This is a cruise passenger-specific (pick up and dropoff at Port Chalmers Cruise Ship Terminal only), comprehensive, informative and fun tour of all the Dunedin City highlights including scenic Otago Peninsula Views and the glistening white sands of Dunedin beaches. Learn about the history of Dunedin, the early Maori and European settlers and the gold rush in the area that bought so much wealth in the early days of the City.

Description:

Our first stop in Dunedin City will be Baldwin Street - The steepest street in the world. Here we will have a chance to wander (or rather climb) as desired and capture photos at this unique destination.

Next up to Signal Hill lookout to admire the city from above before descending towards the central city and the University of Otago.

We will meander back down from the heavens to our next stop, the University of Otago. The first University to be established in New Zealand and a mainstay of the Local economy, the University is an opportunity to enjoy the exquisite architecture of the early Victorian/Gothic Revival buildings on site.

A stop at the famous Dunedin Railway Station and an opportunity to capture some beautiful photos of this magnificent building from inside and out. A comfort stop and a chance to grab your caffiene fix here aswell.

Next we are onto the Otago Peninsula with a scenic stop for photos overlooking the Otago Harbour and history of the early settlement by european pioneers. 

A drive through our beach suburbs back towards the city will give us another scenic opportunity of the rugged coastline and glistening white sand beaches

Next we make our way towards Dunedin's Octagon admiring the beautiful architecture of years past and a chance for a brief wander.

This is the final tour stop and it is up to you how you spend the rest of the day. Stay on board with your guide and return to Port Chalmers or stay in town and have a wander in the central city and find your own way back to Port Chalmers.

*Please note: We follow a similar itinerary on each tour but your guide may add extra stops if views/conditions allow and on days when the weather isn't playing ball (low cloud) we may not get up to the highest viewpoints but, trust us, we'll still make sure you have a fabulous day!
